Friends Moments has been built in few weeks thanks to Orange XR Design System for the Orange Innovation Cup contest
Friends Moments is a VR application for Oculus Quest 2 headsets, that allows to share good times with loved ones, regardless of the distance. We received the Orange Innovation Cup 2021 award in January 2022.
This multiplayer gaming experience allows to play several games like:
- 3D pictionary-like word guessing game
- ping-pong and tennis with homemade lag compensation algorithms, to fully hide any lag
- darts, chess, ….
- watch Youtube videos together …
The application is available on Sidequest, and itch.io.

The app is build with Unity, use the Exit Games Photon solution for networking and Ready Player Me for the avatars.
The interaction and locomotion stack is homemade, and is part of a set of UPM packages that we created to allow to easily quickstart networked virtual reality applications.
